This was the ninth consecutive quarterly increase in tourism spending and is attributed to higher spending by Canadians at home as foreign travel spending in Canada remains virtually unchanged.
- Like wine? Southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands are home to 8.4% of the province’s vineyards, 18.1% of its wineries and 5.6% of its acres under vine. Province-wide, B.C.’s share of Canada’s cultivated grape area, marketed production of grapes, and the farm gate value of grapes, has been increasing.
